Biomechanics organizations
- American Society of Biomechanics
- The mission of the American Society of Biomechanics is to encourage and foster the exchange of information and ideas among biomechanists working in different disciplines and fields of application, biological sciences, exercise and sports science, health sciences, ergonomics and human factors, and engineering and applied science, and to facilitate the development of biomechanics as a basic and applied science. The American Society of Biomechanics was founded in 1977.
- Canadian Society for Biomechanics (CSB)
- Canadian Society for Biomechanics was founded in 1973. Its mission is primarily the research and the exchange of information about biomechanics and physical activity.
- European Society of Biomechanics
- The European Society of Biomechanics was founded in 1976 in a meeting in Brussels with 20 scientists from 11 countries. It is now the largest Biomechanics society in Europe with almost 500 members.
The primary goal of the ESB is to encourage, foster, promote and develop research, progress and information concerning the science of Biomechanics.
- International Society of Biomechanics
- The International Society of Biomechanics promotes the study of the biomechanics of movement with special emphasis on human beings; encouraging international contacts among scientists in this field, promoting knowledge of biomechanics on an international level, and cooperating with related organizations.
- International Society of Biomechanics in Sports
- The primary purposes of the ISBS are to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas for sports biomechanics researchers, coaches and teachers; to bridge the gap between researchers and practitioners; and to gather and disseminate information and materials on biomechanics in sports
